In another report, a clip of two Nigerian soldiers violently assaulting a driver after a minor clash has ignited widespread outrage across social media.

The soldiers, dressed in full camouflage uniforms, are seen aggressively dragging the driver out of his vehicle and subjecting him to severe physical abuse.

Unfortunately, their cries for help are ignored as the officers persist in their actions. The man was subsequently dragged out of the car amid indiscriminate jabs on his body.

In the unsettling footage, the distressed driver tries to defend himself, asking, “How did I bash your car?” Despite his efforts to explain, the soldiers continue their assault. A woman in the passenger seat, visibly alarmed, shouts, “He is not feeling fine,” pleading for them to stop.

The woman who appeared to be recording the incident was also confronted by the men who asked why she was videoing them.

The incident has sparked heated discussions online, with Nigerians condemning the abuse of power. Activist Verydarkman voiced his anger, calling the soldiers dishonourable and shameless while demanding immediate disciplinary action.

Sharing a video where he addressed the matter, he wrote:

“To this army officer, you have no honor, you are sh@m3l3ss TO THE NIGERIAN ARMY WE CALL FOR THE DISMISSAL OF THIS INDISCIPLINED OFFICER….the uniform men should know their place in the society, they are meant to serve and protect not bylly and opr3zz and abuse power.”

In the same vein,  comedian and activist Mr. Macaroni also expressed disdain for such act. On his social media page, he criticized the soldiers for their oppressive behavior, writing,  “Shameless Brutes! Flexing their muscle on the same defenseless civilians they ought to protect. Always so sad to see scenes like this without any show of solidarity from fellow Nigerians witnessing the oppression in real time.”
