Of course, 50 Cent had something to say after Ye included him in an online tirade.
During another one of his out-of-nowhere rants on social media, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West took a break from taking shots at Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Playboi Carti, Virgil Abloh, etc. to show some love to Fiddy on Tuesday (March 18).
“50 Cent is one of my favorite people,” Ye typed. “He will be one of the people who brings back Black economic independence.” The G-Unit leader peeped the love and responded the only way he knew how: with jokes. “Damn it Ye ya dangerous right now, what you say about the kids man,” 50 posted on his Instagram.
But the Queens emcee wasn’t quite finished with his response to Ye. The multi-hyphenate businessman came to IG two days later to address an uncharacteristic absence from the social media platform. Fif claimed that he had to stay away from IG because Ye was wilding and verbally attacking kids, in reference to West calling JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s children, Rumi and Sir, mentally challenged.
“I didn’t post anything yesterday because Ye said the kids are retarded. I can’t compete with that kinda sh*t, I’m listening to his album now,” the mogul quipped yet again.
Curtis Jackson previously talked about Ye during an interview with Billboard in 2024. He opined that if anybody has a reason to crash out, it would be Yeezy who has dealt with an immense amount of turmoil including the loss of his mother, Ms. Donda West.
“I don’t think anybody’s been through more or have more reasons to fall apart than Kanye,” he said at the time. “The success of his project comes, and his mom passes away. So what you been praying for — the gift is a curse. You lose that, and he had real reasons to f**king be out of it. He did the right thing. He went to work.”
West has addressed Jackson’s point recently, using a different online tirade to discuss his mother’s passing. In it, Ye admitted he hasn’t been the same since his mother died and that her untimely death has contributed to suicidal ideation.
“I THOUGHT ABOUT KILLING MYSELF AT AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH EVER SINCE MY MAMA WAS KILLED IN HER SURGERY I ALWAYS BLAMED MYSELF,” West typed in now-deleted posts. “I FELT LIKE [IF I] NEVER ‘MADE IT’ MY MOM WOULD STILL BE ALIVE. PEOPLE ASK IF IM OK. THIS PAST FIVE WEEKS HAVE BEEN THE FIRST TIME I HAVEN’T WANTED TO KILL MYSELF SINCE MY MAMA DIED.”
