Wizkid has unveiled the 16-track list for his highly anticipated album “Morayo,” set for release this Friday, November 22nd. The project boasts a compelling blend of solo tracks and heavyweight features. The album includes collaborations with Asake on “Bad Girl,” Brent Faiyaz on the previously released “Piece of My Heart,” Tiakola on “Apres Minuit,” Jazmine Sullivan on “Bad for You,” and Anaïs on “Slow.” The roster emphasizes Wizkid’s penchant for pairing his Afrobeat rhythms with a diverse range of vocal styles.
The lead-up to “Morayo” has seen two singles already making waves: “Piece of My Heart,” a smooth, R&B-infused record with Brent Faiyaz, which dropped last month, and “Kese (Dance),” a vibrant, uptempo track meant to dominate dance floors, released just last week. These tracks have set the tone for what fans can expect—an eclectic mix of sounds pushing the boundaries of Afrobeat while staying true to its roots.
The artwork shared with the track listing featured Wizkid clasping his face, a visual choice reminiscent of his “Made in Lagos” era; a classic project that represents a significant cultural moment, one that solidified Wizkid’s status globally.
With “Morayo,” there is a sense of a new chapter being written, one that seeks to expand his already profound impact on the music scene globally.
