Kendrick Lamar has opted to share his reaction to recent headlines surrounding his name on new album GNX. Opening track “wacced out murals” finds the Compton rapper addressing the lack of support he received following the announcement of him headlining the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, as well as his disappointment in one West Coast legend and appreciation for a Queens vet who showed him nothing but love.

Thematically, the song addresses Kendrick becoming accustomed to receiving hate and disrespect, with the title example being a mural in his hometown that was destroyed shortly after the filming of his “Not Like Us” video. The second verse finds the MC diving into conversation surrounding his upcoming Super Bowl performance, as New Orleans native Lil Wayne has expressed his disappointment in not being chosen to hit the stage in his hometown. During his recent Lil Weezyana Festival, he went so far as to say the performance was “ripped away” from him.

“Used to bump The Carter 3, I held my Rollie chain proud. Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down,” spit Lamar, referencing the classic J. Cole track, “Let Nas Down.”

“Whatever though, call me crazy, everybody questionable, turned me to an eskimo, I drew the line and decimal,” he continues before calling out Snoop Dogg for sharing Drake diss “Taylor Made” on social media. The track featured A.I. verses from both Snoop and 2Pac.

“Snoop posted ‘Taylor Made’, I pray it was the edibles. I couldn’t believe it, it’s only right for me to let it go.”

He went on, “Won the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me, all these ni**as agitated, I’m just glad they showin’ their faces.”
