Usimamane & Tony Dayimane Tease Joint Album For 2025. Two of Umlazi’s most promising rappers, Usimamane and Tony Dayimane, have set the South African hip-hop scene abuzz with hints of a potential joint album slated for 2025. The speculation began after Tony Dayimane took to Instagram to pose a tantalizing question to fans.

In his Instagram Story, he conducted a poll asking: “2025 Joint First or Indie Projects Then Joint?”—tagging his fellow Umlazi native, Usimamane. Fans didn’t have to wait long for a response, albeit a cryptic one. Usimamane replied with a simple but loaded, “🤔?”—igniting curiosity and excitement across social media platforms.

The duo’s fans are no strangers to their individual artistry. Both artists made waves last year with their debut albums. Usimamane’s 20th: Days Before Maud showcased a raw and reflective narrative, drawing heavily from his Umlazi upbringing and earning him critical acclaim for his lyrical depth and production choices. On the other hand, Tony Dayimane’s Red October Induction served as an equally powerful introduction, blending hard-hitting bars with melodic hooks, cementing his place as one of KZN’s rising stars.

The possibility of a joint album feels almost inevitable, given the chemistry the two have displayed both on and off the mic. Even though they have dropped collaborations together, the two famed rappers have placed fans on their toes imagining what such a project could bring to the table.

Their shared roots in Umlazi, combined with their unique perspectives and styles, have the potential to create something that could resonate deeply with audiences across South Africa and beyond.

The Instagram interaction adds to the growing trend of SA hip-hop artists joining forces for collaborative projects. From AKA and Anatii’s Be Careful What You Wish For to recent hints at a joint project between Maglera Doe Boy and Khuli Chana, the genre is witnessing an exciting wave of partnerships.
