Diddy Attempts To Have ‘Racist’ Federal Sex Charge Dismissed

Diddy continues to fight the allegations against him and has employed a new angle in the court of law. He and his legal team claim that his federal sexual misconduct charges are “racist,” as they have “not been utilized against any white people.”

This motion, filed on Tuesday (Feb. 18), came after a superseding indictment was issued last month which added two new victims to his sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation case. The Bad Boy founder’s legal team cited the Mann Act, a federal law passed in 1910 that prohibits the transportation of women across state lines for “immoral purposes.”

They claimed that no white person has ever been targeted with this specific law, writing, “Mr. Combs has been singled out because he is a powerful Black man, and he is being prosecuted for conduct that regularly goes unpunished. What was racist in its inception has often been racist in its operation.”

Diddy’s legal team also doubled down on the claim that all sexual activity between himself and his victims was consensual, as opposed to what the prosecution alleges was forceful. “The government has concocted a criminal case based primarily on allegations that Mr. Combs and two of his longtime girlfriends sometimes brought a third party — a male escort — into their sexual relationship,” they wrote.

Lastly, they reiterated their claim that the prosecution had been leaking information to the media in an attempt to destroy his public image. “The government’s handling of this case demonstrates bias and animus,” they wrote. “It has gone out of its way to humiliate Mr. Combs and to prejudice the jury pool with pretrial publicity that plays on racist tropes. It has leaked damaging (and often times false) material to the press.”

The prosecution has yet to reply to the new motion, but they did say in October that the accusations were “baseless” and threatened the chances of trial going fairly during a pre-trial hearing. Diddy remains behind bars after being arrested in September 2024 and his trial is set to begin on May 5.
