Nasty C Explains Shift In Focus From US Hip Hop Market To Africa And Europe. In a candid interview with Heart FM, South African rapper Nasty C opened up about his strategic shift away from pursuing the US hip-hop market, a goal he had previously set his sights on, and how he is now prioritizing the African and European markets.

When asked if the slowing down of his US ambitions was intentional, Nasty C didn’t mince words. “Yes, it’s intentional,” he responded. “We had to give it a try, we had these ambitions, but then reality kinda just hit you in the face sometimes.”

The rapper acknowledged that while the American hip-hop scene is often seen as the ultimate destination for artists, he realized that chasing this market meant neglecting the potential closer to home. “You kinda realize I shouldn’t be neglecting this one market and chasing this market because it is the one that everyone thinks is the one,” Nasty C explained.

He shared how he and his team reassessed their approach, focusing on regions where they had already established a solid following. “We took a step back, looked at all the places that we went to and did like our own shows. I think that’s how you test your imprint in the market, you do your own show,” he continued, adding that performing in key locations helped them understand where their audience truly resonated.

Reflecting on their experiences, Nasty C highlighted Africa and Europe as areas with immense untapped potential. “We did a tour last year there (Europe). It’s crazy,” he said, hinting at the overwhelming response from fans in these regions.

With this newfound clarity, Nasty C has redirected his focus toward these markets, confident that they hold the key to his global impact. It’s a bold move that reaffirms his dedication to the African and European music scenes, proving that sometimes, success is about recognizing where your true potential lies rather than chasing the world’s most sought-after stage.
