  • Days after reports and speculation about her eyesight spread, Folorunsho Alakija emerged with a post that swept through hearts like a breath of relief.
  • Laced with unshaken determination and a quiet yet resounding celebration, her words spoke of strength beyond affliction.
  • Moved by her unyielding will, followers poured in, their messages heavy with emotion, some inquiring about her health, others offering wishing her speedy recovery.

Nigerian businesswoman and philanthropist, Chief Folorunsho Alakija, recently returned to social media, not with a lament, nor a whisper of personal trials, but with a celebration.

Earlier, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the Executive Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil had allegedly lost her sight, with sources linked to her medical care confirming the development.

Her health struggles were said to have begun after a harrowing near-air mishap, a moment that, according to reports, marked the beginning of her deteriorating vision.

For weeks, her absence from social media deepened speculation. Known for her unwavering dedication to spreading the gospel, her silence was deafening, leaving many anxious about her well-being.

Then, on March 8, International Women’s Day, Alakija broke that silence. With a voice undimmed by uncertainty, she championed women, urged them to embrace the day’s theme and shatter boundaries.

She captioned her post;

“As we globally celebrate the strides achieved towards gender equity, it is evident that there is still so much more to do. Now, more than ever before is the time to move beyond words and to #accelerate action for women across the
globe.

“It’s time to break many more glass ceilings, remove structural barriers and ensure that opportunities are created for women where they don’t currently exist!Together we can drive this change! #AFA #IWD #AccelerateAction “
