Reginae Carter runs on loyalty. This is not only proven when she uses her platform to defend her father Lil Wayne against critiques on social media, but also in her friend group and social interactions. With a tight circle created by friends and family, the 26-year-old does not hesitate to extend the spirit of sisterhood to those around her.

“I’m really big on loyalty and being honest,” explained the reality star to VIBE on a Zoom call about how she navigates her social life.

She later added, “Loyalty goes a long way. It’s like you’re going to know when it’s a loyal person. They’re going to be there for you, they’re going to have your back. You’re going to be able to feel comfortable with telling them stuff and things don’t leave out the room that you guys were in. Being able to also see how they carry themselves. With me, I know that I’m a loyal person because I know I’m loyal to myself. I know that I’m true to myself. You have to start within yourself before you can be anything to anybody else.”

In her efforts to connect with like-minded people, she encourages others to do the same by using the BLK app. The platform, which was previously solely dedicated to making romantic connections, has extended its services to unite users looking for platonic relationships.

“Connection has always been at the heart of BLK, but we recognize that not every meaningful relationship is romantic,” detailed Jonathan Kirkland, Head of Brand & Marketing at BLK in a statement. “Gen Z is redefining relationships, and Social Mode is our answer to that shift. Now, whether you’re looking for love, friendships, or both, BLK has you covered.”

To celebrate the potential powerful friendships to blossom among women using the app, the Gen Z personality hosted a special ladies’ night where they centered friendship, self-care, and community. The full night of events included intimate conversations, massages, custom fragrances, and tarot cards.

“It was literally a vibe and we all learned each other. I met people that I didn’t know first, but now I know them. We networked,” reflected Reginae.

Cementing the BLK app as a tool for finding a business connection, vacation partner, or brunch buddy, users can switch the app into social mode and find the next member of their crew.

“With BLK it’s like you are on the app with a whole bunch of like-minded people. You are creating. You’re trying to find and expand your circles,” shared Reginae. “With that being said, you can do that on the app and you can figure out who and what you want, who you want to be around, and you can learn people. You’re also learning different things about people.”

She continued to advise, “We go on social media accounts and meet people every day. We network every day. This is a perfect app to get on there where people, like-minded people, Back people are doing the same thing, just trying to meet rather it’s as friends, romance, [or] business partners. And that is an app where everybody’s doing the same thing, so why not come together and support our Black people?”

Once those bonds are built, users can take a page from the Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta star’s allegiance to her loved ones, and abide by her girl code rules to establish lifelong links.

“Don’t sleep with my man. That’s number one. Two, I would say I don’t like when you mess with an opp. If I don’t like you, my friends shouldn’t really mess with you,” she explained. “Three, what’s the third one? I would say just remaining true to themselves, having God on their side, and also being respectful and being able to talk things out. We’re not going to always see eye to eye. We’re not going to always get each other, but I feel like a real friend is going to learn to be able to work it out, talk it out, not talking behind your back or doing the catty stuff. Really being there for each other like a sisterhood.”

Users can download BLK in the App Store or Google Play Store.
