Boosie Badazz has come under legal fire for his plans to create a scholarship in memory of fraternity hazing victim Caleb Wilson.
The Louisiana Attorney General has accused the performer of using Wilson’s name, image, and likeness merely to promote a recent concert and has threatened legal action in response.
The drama stems from Boosie’s annual Boosie Bash Festival earlier this month at Southern University, the college Wilson was attending at the time of his death.

During the show, Boosie shared his plans to create a scholarship honoring the 20-year-old student who was killed in February during an off-campus fraternity ritual.
In reports by WBRZ, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill spoke out against Boosie, accusing him of “misappropriation” and using the student’s death for profit.
“Caleb Wilson’s parents have advised me that they have not given consent and know nothing about their son’s name and image being used to promote this event,” Murrill said.

“They didn’t even know the event was happening. They have requested that his name, image, and any reference to a scholarship for him be removed from all promotional materials. I intend to take legal action due to their misappropriation of his name and image to promote their for-profit event. This is not a charitable event.”
On Monday (March 24), Boosie responded to Murrill’s threat on social media, blasting the attorney while vehemently denying the notion that his intent was to capitalize off Wilson’s death and that his plans were disingenuous.
“Its sad for this Lawyer [and] family to say I promoted my event off someones passing,” the Baton Rogue native insisted. “How the f**k can I capitalize off someone death for a concert. That Aint Me.”

Boosie claimed he was asked to bring increased awareness to Wilson’s passing and now he feels betrayed by Murrill and the Wilson family’s assertions.
“I was ask to help the situation n thats what I was doing once I made it home,” he continued. “But for yall to say that yall are taking legal action against someone who is trying to help Yall is a slap n my face.”
In another post, the rapper also offered to donate $20,000 to the Wilson family and claimed that Southern University and others have blocked him from contacting the family.
To date, 3 suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with Wilson’s death.
