LeBron James is stepping back into the podcasting game alongside a new voice. His show Mind The Game will return for new episodes, and his co-host will be former NBA MVP Steve Nash.
They released a teaser for the show this week, announcing that Mind the Game will return next Tuesday (April 1). In the clip, Nash asks James whether an NBA team can win a championship after making a blockbuster mid-season trade. Of course, LBJ has been in the midst of answering that very question. The Los Angeles Lakers traded Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic in February and are currently the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
The pair also briefly touched on James’s former co-host and current head coach, JJ Redick. The 20 time All-Star joked about Nash getting a head coaching job in the NBA because of his new hosting gig. (Nash previously coached the Brooklyn Nets.)
Mind The Game first launched in March 2024 and showcased LeBron James and former NBA player JJ Redick having detailed discussions about the intricacies of basketball in the modern age. The podcast came to an abrupt stop when rumors swirled about the Los Angeles Lakers potentially hiring Redick as their new head coach.
Since the former hooper took over the team, the Lakers have posted a 43-28 record and are on pace to have their best regular-season performance since their championship run in 2019-2020. They didn’t miss a beat losing Anthony Davis, as Luka Doncic has immediate chemistry with King James. Luka went to his first NBA Finals last season as a member of the Mavericks, and James has a 4-6 record in the finals, so the Lakers have the talent and experience to possibly return to the mountaintop after four consecutive disappointing seasons and playoff exits.
