Billboard Women in Music 2025
On Sunday (March 30), R&B singer Kenyon Dixon took to X with a shocking revelation about — of all things — Crime Mob and Michael Jackson.
“Finding out Crime Mob broke up because Princess lied and told Diamond that they saw Michael Jackson at Six Flags and he wanted to get on ‘Knuck If You Buck’ is SENDING me dawg I’m crying. What would MJ be doing on ‘Knuck If You Buck’? LMFAOOOOOOO,” he tweeted. Over 4.4 million impressions later, we’re still just as stunned and tickled by this random fact as you are.
Princess appeared on Storytime With Legendary Jerry in February 2024 and recalled the story behind the Hip-Hop group’s hit single and how one lighthearted white lie lead to their dismantlement.
She explained that she broke Diamond’s trust after calling her to share that she and her brother saw Michael Jackson and his pet chimpanzee, Bubbles, at Six Flags and he mentioned that he wanted to get on “Knuck If You Buck.” Upon hearing Princess “confirm” that he laid down a verse and Bubbles did ad-libs, Diamond allegedly ran from her house to theirs — only to find out it was just a joke.
“She believes us and it hurt her,” Princess shared before apologizing for what went down. They were around 16 at the time.
Too Black For BET/X
Fans and critics alike were in shambles over the tidbit.
Rob Markman tweeted, “MJ WAS with the s**ts. Pharrell gave him those Justin Timberlake beats first and Mike was like ‘Nah gimme the s**t you give NORE.’” Charlamagne Tha God teased, “Diamond, if you believed that, you were just looking for a reason to leave the group.”
Another replied with what she thought Jackson would sound like on the club anthem. Someone else urged the internet to now make an AI-powered version of the record with the King of Pop on the remix.
Diamond hasn’t addressed the Michael Jackson story, but has said that Crime Mob’s split was due to faulty business dealings on their manager’s part. She left the group in 2007 to pursue a solo career.
