A$AP Rocky didn’t have much time to celebrate his win against A$AP Relli and now has to gear up for yet another trial. Rolling Stone reports Relli, né Terrell Ephron, is moving forward with his civil lawsuit accusing his former associate of assault.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge William Fahey lifted a hold on Ephron’s case on Wednesday (Feb. 26) and has set the civil trial for Jan. 12, 2026. The next hearing in the civil lawsuit is set for May 28.
Relli’s lawyer, Melisa Mikhail, maintained that her client had no intention of dropping his lawsuit against Rocky and was determined to get this case to trial, regardless of the rapper’s recent acquittal.
“We intend to continue litigating this case,” Mikail asserted. “The standard in a criminal case is much higher than the preponderance of the evidence standard in a civil matter. We still believe that our claims have merit, and we intend on fully litigating them.”
Rakim Mayers, aka A$AP Rocky, appears in court as the verdict is read during his felony assault trial at Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center on February 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. A$AP Rocky was found not guilty on all counts.

Interestingly enough, Rocky’s civil attorney, James Sargent, argued that Relli was “no longer a basis for the case” and felt that it was best to drop the civil case. “Mr. Ephron testified in the criminal case as to the facts and circumstances,” Sargent previously said. “The jury’s acquittal speaks volumes as to how they valued that testimonial evidence.”
The criminal and civil cases accuse A$AP Rocky of shooting a firearm at Relli as the men engaged in a heated argument in Hollywood in November 2021. The criminal trial found Relli arguing that he was grazed by one of the bullets from the gun that Rocky had, while the rapper asserted that the firearm was “a prop gun.”
