Beyoncé did not leave the 2025 Grammy Awards empty-handed.

The 43-year-old has officially made history with wins for her acclaimed COWBOY CARTER album. On Sunday night (Feb. 2), the mother of three took the stage in a gold sequined gown at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles to accept the Best Country Album award for the 2024 release.

With the win, Queen Bey is the first Black artist to take the category. She was presented the award by Taylor Swift, who previously took home the trophy in 2010.

“I want to thank God that I’m able to still do what I love after so many years,” detailed the most decorated Grammy winner live from the podium.

“I just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about, and to stay consistent.”

Ahead of the live show, she also achieved another historic feat, as her “II MOST WANTED” duet with Miley Cyrus earned the Best Country Duo/Group Performance. She is the first Black woman to take the category since The Pointer Sisters in 1975.

After being incredulously snubbed four times for Album of the Year, the Recording Academy also finally got it right as Beyoncé and COWBOY CARTER took home the most coveted win at the 2025 GRAMMYs. She is now the first Black woman to win in that category this century— Lauryn Hill was the last one to do so in 1999.

The award was presented by members of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Bey first “thanked, praised, and acknowledged” them before getting into her speech. “I just feel very full and very honored. It’s been many, many years,” she emotionally continued. “And I just wanna thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer—all of the hard work.”

She dedicated the award to Linda Martell and urged fellow creatives to “keep pushing forward, opening doors.” After making history earlier in the night, this final win felt like a personal one.

In total, Beyoncé was up for four country Grammys this year, out of 11 overall nominations including Album Of The Year. COWBOY CARTER was officially released on March 29, 2024. The genre-bending work features Best New Artist nominee Shaboozey, as well as Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Linda Martell, Reyna Roberts, Tiera Kennedy, Tanner Adell, Willie Jones, and more.

The wins come just as the global pop star announced she would officially embark on the COWBOY CARTER tour. The delayed reveal was shared across social media the day before music’s biggest night.
