Now this is what you call doing the most for love. A Florida bride found herself going viral for all the wrong — and slightly hilarious — reasons after police bodycam footage caught her literally racing to the altar.
The soon-to-be bride was riding shotgun in a gray Tesla, fully glammed for her big day, when Port St. Lucie, Fla. police pulled the vehicle over for speeding. Reportedly, the car was flying down the Crosstown Parkway at 105 mph.
According to information provided on the police department’s official Facebook page, when the officer approached the car and asked, “Whose wedding is it?” the bride raised her hand from the passenger seat and said, “It’s mine.”
The man behind the wheel, dressed in a sharp white shirt and black vest, explained they were running behind for a 2:30 p.m. ceremony nearby. It was 2:42 p.m. when police stopped them. “You’re already late,” the officer quipped as the bride let out a nervous laugh and replied, “We’re trying to get there.”
Despite the dangerous dash, officers let the bride and her guests off with a later court date for the driver and allowed them to continue on their journey. The Port St. Lucie Police Department later posted the footage with a cheeky caption: “This stop gives a whole new meaning to racing to the altar… not exactly the best way to start your wedding.”
