Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has expressed immense pride and joy in his son, Seni Saraki, as he wins a Grammy award.

Seni, a music consultant and CEO of The Native magazine, contributed to the Bob Marley: One Love soundtrack, which won the prestigious Best Reggae Album award at the 67th Grammy Awards.

Taking to social media, Saraki shared his excitement, highlighting the significance of the achievement for his son’s career.

“Congratulations, Seni, on winning your first Grammy last night for your work on the Bob Marley: One Love soundtrack, which took home the award for Best Reggae Album!” the proud father wrote in a post on X. “Seeing you pour your heart into your passion and having it recognised on the global stage is an indescribable joy. Well done! We are super proud of you!”

Seni, who has also worked on high-profile projects like the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, expressed his gratitude towards the artists and producers who contributed to the success of the Bob Marley: One Love album.

He acknowledged the efforts of Nigerian artists like Wizkid and Bloody Civilian, as well as international talents such as Daniel Caesar and Jessie Reyez.

“I appreciate all the amazing artistes, producers and engineers who were brave enough to take on this project because it is about Bob Marley’s legacy,” Seni said. “I appreciate them for taking on the songs, reinterpreting them, and doing it their own way. Artists like Bloody Civilian, Wizkid, Daniel Caesar, and Jessie Reyez.”

Bob Marley: One Love is a biographical film that traces the life of the iconic reggae legend, showcasing his struggles and the revolutionary music that made him a global symbol.

This Grammy recognition adds to Seni’s growing reputation in the music industry, following his role as a music consultant on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, which received four Grammy nominations in 2023.

A graduate of the London School of Economics, Seni is also known for founding The Native, a Lagos-based music magazine that celebrates African culture, music, and style.
