Cam’ron has clapped back at Damon Dash‘s insistence that his former business partners should fund his lifestyle due to his impact on their careers.
In a recent segment on his Talk With Flee series, Cam’ron scoffed at Dash’s belief that he shouldn’t have to work and that stars such as JAY-Z, Kevin Hart, Kanye West, and others should compensate him as a show of appreciation.
According to Cam’ron, Dash’s ongoing financial issues are due to his lavish spending and failed entreprenurial pursuits, particularly during the height of his success. In addition, the Harlem native implied that Dash’s work ethic has waned, while his other associates have continued to break new ground in their own endeavors.

“After opportunity, it’s about keeping on hustling,” Cam said while referencing Dash. “I would love to do the things Dame did. Fly private for five years straight buy two mansions in London, you got a mansion in London just for your ni**as and then a personal mansion in London for something else or renting them or whatever. You just got mansions in London. We not even from London. We just going to f**king London hanging out.”
The rapper and media personality continued, adding, “Bro if you live like that you got to keep hustling you can’t go buy all that sh*t you bought, and I’m being nice. I’m not even naming half of it. You can’t buy all that sh*t and spend all that money and then be like, ‘I shouldn’t have to work anymore.’
“I ain’t have half the sh*t I just named. I ain’t have no two lofts in SoHo, I ain’t have no two mansions in London, I ain’t fly private every day for six, seven, eight, nine years. I ain’t have no damn urinal.”
While Cam’ron acknowledged Dash’s contributions to his own career, particularly helping faciliate his exit from Epic Records and his resurgence on Roc-A-Fella Records, he reiterated that his longtime friend’s spending habits have led to his current situation.
He also implied that Dash is living in the past and needs to move forward and continue to work towards building his empire instead of feeling entitled.

“This all the sh*t you was spending your money on. I’m just good at budgeting money, thank God, and thank God I keep coming up with different hustles to do this. Did Dame give me an opportunity to get me back on my feet? Absolutely.
“I may not be here if it wasn’t for Dame but not because of an initial favor he did for me. He signed me to Roc-A-Fella and I took off and I kept doing other things. I’m not eating off the Roc-A-Fella money no more.”

Cam concluded that had Dash not squandered his wealth, he wouldn’t have to work or rely on others to assist him financially.
“Dame would be set for life if he knew how to manage his money,” the Diplomats founder said. “He made more than enough money not to work anymore, but he wanted to keep hustling, and I dig it; it’s in him. That’s just something he wants to do, but when it’s not working out, you can’t get mad at other people.”
Cam’ron’s comments came in response to an interview Dame Dash did with The Art of Dialogue in late 2024, during which the former Roc-A-Fella Records CEO blasted comedian Kevin Hart and others for failing to support him in his various endeavors.

“He won’t help me promote anything I’m doing,” Dash said of Hart, later declaring that he should no longer have to work due to the amount of celebrities he’s discovered or helped elevate in their careers. “The amount of people that I actually put on, I should never be broke, ever, in life,” the 53-year-old said at the time.
“I should never have to fund nothing, I should never have to struggle. It should just be an anonymous bag with money, all the time, the amount of people whose lives I’ve changed. If they were on it like that, I shouldn’t even have to move. But it seems like the people I help the most, they end up resenting me the most, I don’t know why. I should never have to ask for nothing.”
