Cam’ron Responds To Jim Jones Claim He Did “Backdoor” Verzuz Deal

Cam’ron has shot back at Jim Jones‘ claim that Killa participated in some shady business ahead of their Dipset Verzuz bout.

Responding to the allegations, the Harlemite took to Instagram with a spliced video, showing Jomo’s claims edited alongside his recollection of the events. The Purple Haze emcee could be seen in the video saying that Dipset “has to get 6 digits at least” for every artist in the crew. Killa then secured himself stocks in Triller and free beats from Swizz Beatz and Timbaland as part of the opportunity, a move Jim believes should’ve benefited the whole squad, not just Cam.

The second slide showed an alleged conversation between Cam’ron and Jim Jones leading up to the Verzuz. Jones told Killa in the text messages that he wasn’t doing Verzuz for the money. In fact, at one point, Jomo said that he was willing to give Cam all of the money in the deal just to check off the bucket list opportunity of performing at Madison Square Garden.

“I don’t pay half the sh*t ni**as say no mind. But you know I keep the files. You wanted to do Verzuz for free ni**a. So if you made a dollar be happy. Talking bout it was on ya bucket list ?.. stop tryna re-write history. Now u got a loss in the garden and the Barclays,” Cam captioned the post with his receipts. “And ya ni**as ain’t eating unless they came with they own bread. The boy @sugadugga_ent got more money than you. And let’s bet 10 M’s on that. Go get handsome a car a crib in jersey something. I’m done..FO NOW.”

In late February, Jones paid a visit to The Breakfast Club, where he struck a tone that was far different from the text messages displayed. Jones explained how an unfair deal between the platform’s co-founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, and Cam, led to the iconic New York City battle between The Lox and Dipset. The 48-year-old rapper took aim at Cam’ron, arguing that he knew that he was doing “sucka sh*t” and intentionally was trying to get one up on the rest of his bandmates.

“Swizz, holla at me. You backdoored me, gave that man some business that you ain’t give [me and Juelz Santana],” Jimmy said. “I need triple what I had last time, the way we put that Verzuz on fire. We had that thing looking like a championship game…You definitely got to give me triple, Swizz, and you got to give me some real business this time.”

“That’s the funny thing about this game. Y’all don’t talk about the backdooring that’s going on for the Verzuz. We got the bag, but boys still went backdoor…[Cam’ron will] say, ‘That’s me being a businessman.’ Nah, that’s you being a sucka doing backdoor sh*t. I stand on 10 toes and I break bread with my ni**as […] I’m not one of them type of dudes.”

In regular Jim Jones fashion, the NYC emcee then poured salt on the wound, claiming that Killa Cam’s real problem was that the Madison Square Garden crowd “booed him” and “we lost,” asserting that “He forgot his freestyle.”
