Nollywood veteran, Chiwetalu Agu, has voiced his deep anguish and concern over a heart-wrenching video highlighting the dire plight of a community in Akwa Ibom that is desperately in need of basic survival resources.
The heartbreaking footage was shared by none other than the famous skitmaker, Mark Angel, during his recent humanitarian trip to Okoritak village in Ibeno Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. What he uncovered left many in utter disbelief.
The residents, trapped in this unimaginable nightmare, revealed to Mark Angel that they have no choice but to drink from an oil-contaminated well — the only source of water available to them.
This toxic water, according to them, has wreaked havoc on their health, causing all kinds of debilitating diseases that have plagued them for years. This gruesome reality is compounded by the absence of even the most basic infrastructure, including a proper school for their children.
