Coco Jones is on a mission to captivate her fans with her debut album, Why Not More? — and undeniably — the excitement surrounding its release is palpable. Stepping into this bold new era, one that radiates more sex appeal and unapologetic candidness, the 27-year-old is ready for everyone to experience the same thrill, passion, and risk-taking that she embraces herself.
“Honestly, I’m really excited. I’m proud of myself for putting together a body of work, and I’m curious to see what people say,” the singer revealed to VIBE during an appearance at Motorola’s launch of its all-new version of the nostalgic Razr phone on Thursday night (April 24).
For Coco, this album represents a significant milestone in her career, and it’s clear she’s ready for what’s next.
The debut LP, available for streaming today (April 25), showcases Jones’ vocal prowess and deep emotional resonance — seamlessly blending contemporary R&B with genre-bending sounds. When asked about the collaborations she envisioned for Why Not More?, Jones emphasized her openness to exploring new creative spaces.
“I’m definitely always looking to expand my horizons and work with new artists and new producers,” she said, while sharing her desire to collab with anyone. “I really love to try things I haven’t before, so it could be anybody, everybody.”
The “ICU” singer’s willingness to step outside her comfort zone speaks to her continued artistic growth and ambition. Earlier this year, Jones opened up to the Recording Academy about the album, which she described as a “bucket list” item for her. “It’s been a really long process because I’m really strict with myself,” she began. “I think my fans are in store for of course, what they love from me. Those ballads, those vocally challenging moments, but I’m really trying to push the narrative of R&B.”
She continued, “I love to perform. I love high energy. I love choreo. I want a world where they can both coexist. And I feel like R&B, to me, can be so flexible, and that’s what I’m trying to showcase and teach my audience.”
Fans can listen to Why Not More? above and also lookout for the R&B songstress on her supporting tour kicking off May 5 in Philadelphia before concluding on June 26 in Nashville. She will then head overseas for six dates spanning the European cities of Cologne, Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, London, Paris, and others.
