Damon Dash‘s legal issues continue to mount, as the executive and entrepreneur has been accused of violating various court orders stemming from an ongoing lawsuit.

According to court documents filed on Tuesday (Feb. 18), Judge John F. Walter claims that Dash, who has been sued by filmmaker Josh Webber, was in violation of “the courts orders” regarding the case.

Dash is cited as ignoring Judge Walter’s aforementioned orders on numerous occasions, including failure to schedule mediation with the plaintiff, as well as not submitting pre-trial documents.

In response to Dash’s incompliance, Judge Walters has now issued a default judgement in Webber’s favor, who has to submit evidence of any and all damages that incurred as a result of Dash’s statements and the lawsuit itself by March 3.

The lawsuit is one of multiple filings that Webber has made against Dash. The latest judgement against Dash stems from comments the former Roc-A-Fella Records CEO made after Webber was awarded a judgement in a copyright infringement and defamation lawsuit related to the 2019 film Dear Frank.

In 2022, during an appearance with Earn Your Leisure, Dash alleged that Webber “stole” the film from him, even though the court already ruled in Webber’s favor.

“I had a judgment. And I knew this dickhead Chris Brown (pause) and Josh Webber (pause) and Muddy Waters… Chris Brown the lawyer,” Dash specified.

“I went through four trials with the same lawyer… What I lost was defamation because these guys trigger me and steal my sh*t… you think there is freedom of speech, it’s really not…” he said at the time.

According to Webber, Dash’s comments led to him missing out on a $4 million gig to direct a film starring Billy Bob Thornton and Scott Eastwood, which mirrors the amount the Canadian is seeking in damages.

Josh Webber’s quest to receive payment from Dash hasn’t gone as smoothly as seemingly expected, causing Webber to request that Dash’s company, Poppington, LLC, and/or copyrights to films he produced be handed over to United States Marshals on his behalf.

Earlier this year, the filmmaker also made a filing requesting Dash’s engagement ring to be auctioned off to cover his remaining debts to him.
