Emtee Warns Against Fake Fan Pages Scamming People Using His Name. South African rap star Emtee has issued a stern warning to his fans about two fraudulent accounts impersonating his official brand. The rapper took to social media to call out “EmteerecordsSA” and “emteehustlegang” for scamming unsuspecting followers by selling counterfeit merchandise and making false promises.

The warning, shared by Emtee himself, cautioned his fanbase to stay vigilant and avoid these deceitful accounts. In his post, Emtee emphasized that neither of these accounts has any affiliation with him or his official merchandise.

“They have been scamming people, selling fake merchandise, and promising people the moon and the stars,” he said. He urged his followers to only trust legitimate sources for any purchases related to his music, merchandise, or any other official promotions.

This warning comes at a time when the online presence of artists is more critical than ever, but also susceptible to exploitation by scammers. In recent years, several high-profile artists have faced similar challenges, with fake accounts taking advantage of fans’ loyalty for personal gain.

Emtee‘s comments came in response to the EmteeHustlegang fan page’s recent unveiling of the DIY 3 merchandise. The fan page had been actively promoting this merchandise to Emtee’s fans, but without obtaining the rapper’s approval beforehand.

This situation raised concerns for Emtee, leading him to express his discontent publicly. It highlights the growing issue of fan-driven merchandise ventures that, while meant to support the artist, sometimes cross boundaries when they operate without proper communication or consent. Emtee’s remarks underscore the importance of maintaining respect for artists’ brands and decisions regarding their image and merchandise.
