Fans Blast Beanie Sigel’s Claim Jay-Z Overshadowed His Album Releases

Beanie Sigel is one of the rappers who isn’t afraid to speak his mind about JAY-Z. The Philadelphia artist recently claimed Hov intentionally overshadowed his album releases, but the fans did not buy it.

“I used to have questions like, ‘Why every time my album dropped, Jay would drop right on top of me or right before me?’” he said during a recent interview on The Art Of Dialogue. He acknowledged that if fans only had enough to buy one album, they would more than likely purchase Hov’s over his, which stifled his success despite them both being Roc-A-Fella. “I never understood that. Every single album that I dropped, Jay dropped right on top of me. To have in-house competition of that magnitude was crazy. I always thought, ‘Let me breathe!’”

One thing about the Brooklyn rapper is he has a rabid fanbase that will always go to bat for him, so it was no surprise that an X user pulled up their respective album release dates to contest the claim. “Did Jay-Z REALLY step on Beanie Sigel’s album releases? Let’s not just take Sigel’s word as truth, let’s look at the facts,” they wrote.

“Jay-Z – Vol. 3… Life And Times Of S. Carter – 12/28/1999. Beanie Sigel – The Truth – 2/29/2000. Jay-Z – The Dynasty: Roc La Familia – 10/31/2000. Beanie Sigel – The Reason – 5/26/2001. Jay-Z – The Blueprint – 9/11/2001. Beanie Sigel – The B. Coming – 3/29/2005.” The X user acknowledged Jay-Z’s retirement and Beanie Sigel’s stint in prison before continuing. “Jay-Z – American Gangster – 11/7/2007. Beanie Sigel – The Solution – 12/11/2007 […] Beans was featured on AG. And Jay was featured on TS. The facts show that this is a lie.”

That same user went on to call Beans a liar and cited how the 4:44 artist changed his life, but his inability to take accountability for his “reckless behavior” has caused him to blame the Roc-A-Fella founder for how his career panned out. He wrote a whole thread about their history together, including Sigel picking Dame Dash’s side in his feud with Jay despite Dame manipulating the situation to appear as if he already did.

The “Feel It In The Air” rapper allegedly expressed his wishes to not pick either side when their beef began, but Dame seemingly released The B. Coming under Dame Dash Music Group without Sigel’s approval while he was in jail. According to the X user, this was an attempt for Dame to make it appear like Beans took his side and thus fractured his relationship with Jay.

Beanie Sigel recently claimed JAY-Z ghostwrote verses for Memphis Bleek and would “cheat” for him when they were on songs together, something Dame Dash also previously claimed himself. “Did he write for Bleek? Yeah, man, of course,” Sigel said. “I mean, you can hear it […] Just pay attention. He always cheated for Bleek. He had to cheat for Bleek, especially if us three was on a record together. Bleek wouldn’t have stood a chance. That’s my brother. Bleek know.”
