Every successful entrepreneur has that one moment, mentor, or opportunity that serves as a catalyst for their journey. For Thatiso Dube, the founder of GALXBOY, that moment came when he met ANATII, the renowned South African musician and producer. Their friendship and shared creative interests played a pivotal role in shaping the GALXBOY brand and setting Dube on the path to success.

Dube moved to Centurion as a teenager, and it was there that he met ANATII, who was already making waves in the music industry. Their connection went beyond just friendship—ANATII became a mentor and a source of inspiration, unknowingly providing Dube with the tools and exposure that would later fuel GALXBOY’s rise.

One of the most significant things ANATII did for Dube was introducing him to the internet and digital design. Spending time at ANATII’s house, Dube had access to a computer, design software, and high-speed internet—resources that were not easily accessible to many young creatives at the time.

With these tools at his disposal, Dube started experimenting with graphic design, learning how to create logos, patterns, and other digital elements that would later define GALXBOY’s aesthetic.

ANATII wasn’t just a music producer—he was deeply embedded in fashion, pop culture, and global trends. Through him, Dube was exposed to luxury fashion brands, streetwear culture, and the intersection between music and fashion.

This exposure broadened his creative vision, allowing him to see fashion not just as clothing but as a lifestyle and a statement. It helped him understand that a brand like GALXBOY could be more than just T-shirts and hoodies—it could be a movement.

Dube spent countless hours at ANATII’s house, designing, experimenting, and refining his skills. In many ways, that space became his first studio, a place where his creative ideas could come to life.

Unlike formal education or structured mentorship, what ANATII offered was organic learning—a space where creativity flowed naturally. Without realizing it, ANATII had provided Dube with a launchpad to develop his unique design style and brand identity.

With time, Dube’s hobby turned into something more. Inspired by the digital designs he was creating, he started printing and selling custom clothing, which eventually evolved into GALXBOY.

His ability to combine streetwear with bold, eye-catching graphics set his brand apart from others. And much of this creative foundation was built during his time designing on ANATII’s computer.

Looking at GALXBOY today, it’s clear that ANATII’s influence is woven into the brand’s DNA. The focus on quality, creativity, and cultural relevance all trace back to the early days when Dube was learning, exploring, and absorbing inspiration from ANATII’s world.

While Dube ultimately took his own path and turned GALXBOY into a powerhouse, it’s undeniable that ANATII played a key role in giving him the initial tools and exposure to do so.
