  • Magixx has opened up on the inspiration behind his upcoming debut album ‘I Dream In Colour’.
  • The Mavin record label signee in posts on his official microblogging account on X revealed a childhood friend who threatened to kill him is the inspiration.

Nigerian singer Alexander Adelabu popularly known as Magixx has shared some intriguing details about his upcoming debut album, I Dream In Colour.

In a series of posts on X, the 25 year old Mavin signee gave his fans hints about what to expect from the album.

In one of the posts, Magixx revealed that the last song on his album was inspired by a childhood friend who once threatened to kill him. The singer wrote:

“The last track on my album was because of my childhood friend that threatened to get me killed.”

In another post, he disclosed that he is currently dating three women and that a track on the album is dedicated to them. He added:

“My amazing three girlfriends are the reason I made track 3. I want to @ you all, but you know yourselves. I love you.”

Meanwhile, another Mavin signee, Ayra Starr, was the joint top winner at the just concluded MOBO Awards. She clinched and took home two prestigious awards at the 2025 MOBO Awards.

The ceremony, held annually to honour achievements in “music of black origin,” took place on Wednesday in Newcastle, United Kingdom.

Ayra Starr made history by beating stiff competition to win Best International Act, triumphing over music heavyweights Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Megan Thee Stallion, Tems, Asake, and Tyla.

She also defeated Asake, Rema, Tems, Burna Boy and Tyla to win the Best African Act award, becoming the first female winner of the category in 16 years.

Reacting to the news on social media, Ayra Starr wrote:

“My king !!! Jesus! Thank you!!!!! 😭 😭.”

Born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, Ayra Starr became a viral sensation after releasing her hit track ‘Bloody Samaritan’ in 2021.

Under the music producer Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, the songstress has gained popularity in the industry.

She also earned a plethora of awards and nominations for her craft, with the 2 historic MOBO Awards being the latest.
