  • The singer added, “I’d rather kill you than die for you.”

Nigerian music superstar Burna Boy has sharply responded to the ongoing comparisons between him and Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

In a bold statement shared via his Instagram story, Burna Boy made it clear that he does not wish to be seen as Fela’s successor or be associated with his legacy.

“Also all that Burna Boy and Fela talk needs to die now. I’m not Fela, l’m BIG7. I’m all about positivity, peace and prosperity.” he wrote via his Instastory.

However, he also made a controversial remark.

“Honestly, I’d rather kill you than die for you,” Burna Boy added.

The statement comes amidst growing public scrutiny, partly stemming from Burna Boy’s recent clash with fellow artist Speed Darlington.

The two have been at odds after Darlington allegedly defamed Burna Boy, leading to accusations that Burna Boy had detained him.

In other news, Afrobeat singer, Ebunoluwa Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy has broken his silence on social media hours after one of his critics and colleague, Speed Darlington regained freedom.

He was rearrested on November 27, barely two months after his release.

WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Darlington had been charged with defamation and could spend the festive period behind bars. However, hours ago he was released on bail

Seemingly reacting to the release, Burna Boy wondered why when others talk, nobody cares but when he reacts, it becomes a nuclear disaster.

The ‘Common Person’ crooner disclosed that his critics are lucky that he has a lot to lose, adding that many of them “would not be here no more”.

Burna Boy shared that he is not going to talk too much and that he will show no sign of weakness…
