JAY-Z Accuser Recorded Saying Attorney Pushed Her To Sue Mogul

Further evidence has arisen in JAY-Z‘s favor following the mogul being sued for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl back in 2000 — a lawsuit that has since been withdrawn with prejudice.

In newly released audio heard by members of the press and shared by ABC News, the Jane Doe confesses that she was not assaulted by the Brooklyn rapper and was pushed to accuse him of such by her attorney, Tony Buzbee.

Questioned by investigator Charlotte Henderson and an unnamed male investigator, Doe is heard admitting, “He was the one that kind of pushed me towards going forward with him, with Jay-Z.”

“Buzbee did?” the investigators asked. “Yeah,” the woman replied. Listen below.

During a Tuesday (March 11) meeting with press, JAY-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, detailed the Jane Doe’s documented battle with mental illness. This corroborates an affidavit filed by investigator Ian Pillinger indicating the Jane Doe has “a legally-documented history of mental health issues” including bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, psychogenic nonepileptic seizures, and a “history of auditory hallucinations.”

Spiro argues that Jane Doe’s mental state and financial challenges made her the perfect “pawn” for Buzbee to take advantage of in this case. Even while empathetic to her circumstance, JAY-Z’s team has moved forward with naming the Jane Doe within his defamation lawsuit.

“She made the false statement, so she’s a technical and necessary party here,” Spiro told VIBE when asked why the Jane Doe would be sued if she were manipulated by Buzbee, “It may very well be the case that she ultimately says the truth, and we know what the truth is. Justice comes in many different ways, nobody’s after her money, no one’s turned her in to the mental health board. But at a certain point, everybody involved in the conspiracy needs to be asked questions. If the system works the right way, it will correct itself from what has become a horrible issue here.”

The question has also been raised as to why JAY-Z would still sue even after the case was dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be re-opened.

“You know, we have spent a lot of time in this room, Mr. Carter and I and Roc Nation, trying to fix the system in this country,” Spiro asserted. “This country has more falsely accused people in prison than any other country in the world, has more has than 5 times the amount of Black and Brown people in prison than white people. The evidence of Black and Brown people falsely accused makes that number far higher.

“So, Mr. Carter, after spending decades fighting for those things, is going to get falsely accused, and we’re not going to figure out what really happened here? You’re very, very sorely mistaken. He has an obligation not just for all the people that rely on him, but for the system itself, and so once the ultimate truth about everything comes out, he’s going to move forward, and the system will be better for it.”

JAY-Z is suing for malicious prosecution, abuse of process, civil conspiracy and defamation. He’s seeking assumed and actual damages, as well as punitive damages.

As for Buzbee, he has denied accusations of pushing his client to add Hov to the case he initially filed solely against Sean “Diddy” Combs, arguing that the Jane Doe brought her case and accusations to another firm before he even took on the case.

“Jane Doe called referring counsel, the Ava Law Group, and alleged she was assaulted by PDiddy and JAY-Z before her case was EVER referred to our firm. That’s indisputable,” Buzbee previously told TMZ in a statement. “In fact, we have obtained the actual intake sheet from Ava Law group’s intake personnel where Jane Doe signed up to be a client with them long before her case was ever sent to my firm. In that form created by their firm, I take it shows who she was making the assertions against. Those investigators likely didn’t know that the paper trail will demonstrably prove what they say to be false.”
