A judge reportedly told Wendy Williams that her career is over at a recent hearing regarding her guardianship. According to TMZ, sources claim that Judge Lisa Sokoloff exclaimed, “It’s done,” referencing the 60-year-old’s time on screen and on air.
Judge Sokoloff also allegedly accused Williams’s niece, Alex Finnie, of leaking information to the media and threatened her with sanctions for future conduct. The source also claimed that the judge called Williams’ family “no good.” The tabloid reported that the famed commentator was hurt by the remarks.
Earlier this month, the talk show host expressed her regrets about consenting to the courts appointing her a legal guardian to oversee her affairs in the past. Williams has been under the legal guardianship of Sabrina Morrissey since May 2022 amid health concerns.

Her health care advocate, Ginalisa Monterroso, shared, “She kind of felt like, ‘Hey, I have the court. They’re going to assign me a money person. I’m going to be good.’ In no way did she think that her whole life was going to be taken away from her.”
“She wanted to make sure nobody’s in her money and she would be fine,” she continued to elaborate.
Last month, the New Jersey native appeared on The View to expand on her situation.
“I needed a breath of fresh air. I needed to see the doctor, so that’s why I went to the hospital,” she explained. “How dare they say I have incapacitation. I do not!”
When asked about her potential return to television, she exclaimed, “I’ve been doing important things all of my life, and these two people don’t look like me. They don’t talk like me. They don’t act like me. They will never be me.”
