Kamala Harris’ Message To Dejected Democrats Goes Viral

Vice President Kamala Harris addressed her supporters Tuesday (Nov. 26) in a PSA meant to offer encouragement following the election of Donald Trump to office. While some were able to focus on the message, others couldn’t help but make assumptions regarding Harris’ state of mind.

“I just have to remind you: Don’t you ever let anybody take your power from you,” Vice President Harris stated in the clip posted to the Democratic Party’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account. “You have the same power that you did before November 5, and you have the same purpose that you did. And you have the same ability to engage and inspire, so don’t ever let anybody or any circumstance take your power from you.”

Many noted Harris’ body language and speech within the clip, with some assuming she was under the influence.

“Why would the Democrats put this video out of a clearly drunk Kamala?? They want her career over,” wrote one observer, with another adding, “She sounds and looks extremely drunk.”

The idea of Harris addressing her political party while inebriated, however, is also a concept many can’t wrap their head around.

“As a bartender and normal f**king human being in the world I can tell you that Kamala Harris does not sound like a drunk in that f**king video. She sounds relaxed. Like someone after ONE GLASS OF WINE,” offered one X user. A second supporter wrote, “She is NOT a drunk! Yall got Donald Trump in there so yall crew should leave her alone at this point. Yall want confusion, dysfunction, negativity, and toxicity in America so why should yall care about Vice-President Kamala Harris?”

The message is Harris’ first public address since giving her concession speech following the election. The HBCU alum returned to her alma mater, Howard University, for the announcement.

“The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for, but hear mw when I say…the light of America’s promise will always burn bright. As long as we never give up and as long as we keep fighting,” she told her supporters. Harris later added, “In our nation, we owe loyalty not to a president or to a party, but to the Constitution of the United States,” she added to applause. “And loyalty to our conscious and to our God. My allegiance to all three is why I am here to say, while I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign.”
