Nitty Scott has accused Drake‘s team of attempting to bribe her to reveal damaging information regarding Kendrick Lamar, whom the rapper and poet previously dated at one point in their careers.
Scott found herself at the center of a brewing storm on social media after sharing her reaction to Kendrick Lamar’s recent performance on the Grand National Tour with SZA.
What began as a lighthearted post quickly escalated into a full-blown controversy, as critics labeled her “messy” for revisiting a past relationship with Lamar—particularly given his longtime partnership with Whitney Alford, the mother of his two children.

But Nitty wasn’t having it. On Monday evening (April 21), the Bronx-bred lyricist took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the backlash and defend her right to speak on her own experiences. “Nah i let y’all go off for 10 years,” she began.
“If i wanna comment on MY lil dating experiences, i will & if i was looking for clout i woulda dropped the sweetest tea you ever tasted a decade ago. It’s still plenty y’all don’t know stop paying attention to me & go away dennn,” she added, making it clear that her intentions were neither malicious nor opportunistic.

She also claimed to have spoken to Alford in the past, insisting that the two are on good terms. Amid the commentary, one revelation sent shockwaves through fans: a social media user claimed Nitty had been offered “big money” by Drake’s team for damaging information about Kendrick during their highly publicized rap feud—but turned it down.
“I actually really like her. She turned down big money from Drake’s team for messy tea about Kendrick during the battle – and always speaks very highly of him. I think she was just having a little fun and didn’t mean any harm,” the user wrote, with Scott resharing the post.
The 34-year-old also appeared to confirm the sentiment in a follow-up tweet, further distancing herself from any attempts to undermine Lamar’s character.

“What happened last year around the battle? Now imma make you CLOCK IT since you a nitty scott expert. I did not speak on our relationship AT ALL last year except to defend KENDRICK’S GOOD NAME in direct response to ovhoes literally sending me accusations that he’s a cheater.”
For her part, Nitty Scott continues to maintain that her past with Kendrick Lamar is her story to tell—on her terms—and that clout-chasing was never on her agenda.
