  • According to him, a sprinkle of wickedness is needed to thrive in the world.

Nigerian musician Adekunle Gold shares his thoughts on the relationship between kindness and success.

In a post on his social media account, Adekunle Gold suggested that being overly kind can be detrimental to one’s well-being and success.

According to the singer, he has come to realize that a certain level of assertiveness or “wickedness” is necessary to thrive in the world.

He expressed this sentiment by stating that kindness can ultimately lead to being taken advantage of.

Took me a while, but I can confirm now that in this life, you need a sprinkle of wickedness to thrive. Kindness go turn you to mumu,” he stated.

However, not everyone agrees with Gold’s perspective. One of his followers, Oludotun Sunday, countered that kindness is not inherently flawed and that genuinely kind individuals do not regret their actions.

Sunday argued that people are either kind or wicked by nature, and that kindness and wickedness are not interchangeable traits.

He emphasized that kind individuals do not feel the need to be wicked, and that their actions are motivated by genuine compassion rather than a desire for personal gain.

He stated:

This is a hot fat lie

Kind people are kind and never regret their kindness. If you are wicked, you are wicked. If you are kind, you can never wish and do not need to be wicked.

Kind people never nurse that idea, only wicked people can be two faced.”

In another story, Adekunle Gold reveals aspect of his life that isn’t thriving.

In a playful video message shared by his wife, Simi, Adekunle Gold jokingly expressed that all other areas of his life are prospering, except for his experience as a Manchester United supporter.

With a chuckle, he stated:

“Everything in my life is going well, flourishing, and thriving except Manchester United. They’re the only problem I have in my life.”
