Lizzo recently appeared alongside SZA on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 live stream, where they had a session filled with music, laughs, and candid conversations. The multifaceted star—who’s been showing off her dramatic weight loss—came in with good energy, even creating a viral moment by shouting Kendrick Lamar’s iconic “Mustard!” tag from his GNX song “tv off.“
However, while some fans loved seeing Lizzo on the stream, others couldn’t help but mock her, claiming she was “breathing loudly” during the broadcast. A few days later, Lizzo hopped on Instagram Live to set the record straight—and she didn’t hold back.
“I know if the internet is good for one thing, it’s for talking cash money sh*t about fat girls,” she began, addressing the constant online fatphobia she faces. “What I will not allow is for y’all to lie on me,” she declared.
Lizzo then explained that the so-called “loud breathing” wasn’t coming from her but from Cenat himself. “That’s the ni**a that was breathing loud,” she said.
“How am I the one breathing loud when the volume didn’t even change?” To further prove her point, Lizzo hilariously illustrated how her shoulders didn’t move during the alleged heavy breathing, making it clear the claims were baseless.
Despite facing constant mockery about her former size—which was even highlighting by a South Park episode—Lizzo has responded with grace and humor. Aside from the hate, the “Good as Hell” crooner has been receiving widespread praise for her glowing appearance and noticeable weight loss over the past year.
A recent Instagram post from Lizzo had fans flooding the comments with love and admiration. “Baby that face card ain’t ever declining. EVER!!!!,” one fan gushed with a string of heart-eye emojis. Another wrote, “The cheekbones are cheekboning.” Another chimed in with “Always been that girl”—a comment fitting for the award-winning star.
Other fans commented on her new physique, with one person saying, “Whew girl!! You looking skinny!! Still beautiful both ways. Love it.” Another fan praised her for doing it the “natural” way. “Working out & eating right. That’s how you lose weight!!!!” they wrote.
Earlier this year, Lizzo told The New York Times she’s focusing on a “natural weight-loss journey,” emphasizing consistency and self-love over “quick fixes.”
“I’m taking the time every day to put some love into my body,” she told the publication. “There is never a day when I regret taking a walk or doing some Pilates. I’ve been methodical, losing weight very slowly.”
