Ma$e Weighs In On Cam’ron And Jim Jones’ Beef

Ma$e has weighed in on the growing tension between Cam’ron and Jim Jones, which has spilled over onto social media and various media platforms over the past week.

According to Ma$e, he’s attempted to serve as a mediator between the former friends and groupmates, but says that his suggestion for the two to speak with one another has fallen on deaf ears.

The Harlem rapper spoke with media personality M. Reck on Monday (Jan. 13), giving insight into why he’s remained relatively mum regarding the fallout between Jim Jones and his It Is What It Is cohost.

“I think the real issue is that everybody just jumps the gun,” the “Welcome Back” rapper reasoned.

“People talk without having the information correctly. Me being the person that I am, I can say that none of this would have happened if they would’ve just spoke. And my reason for eating popcorn is because if I try to get y’all together and y’all don’t wanna talk to each other, there’s nothing for me to say.

“So you gotta understand, a person like me, it is in my power to get everybody together, it is in my power to at least make the attempt. But you can’t make people talk.”

The 49-year-old continued, adding that he’s chosen to keep himself out of the fray, particularly amid verbal jabs Jones has taken at him, personally.

“I try to do what I think somebody should’ve did for me when I wasn’t present – put us all together and say, ‘Yo, y’all need to work this out because we’re embarrassing ourselves.’ That’s how I personally feel, so all I could do is just sit there. I can’t scream at him. I can’t scream at this person.”

Ma$e, who has been at odds with Cam’ron himself during multiple points across their decades-long friendship, expressed his belief that the ongoing war of words between Cam and Jim isn’t a positive reflection on either party.

“At the end of the day, Cam is my brother and I want the best for Jim and Cam. It don’t look good and it ain’t right. And I wish somebody would have did this for me 30 years ago.”

He continued, “So I can say Ma$e did reach out and try to put everybody together, but it’s hard to put people together when I’m still getting attacked and I’m trying to put y’all together because I know the bigger picture. But that’s it, all love!”

The bad blood between Cam’ron and Jim Jones bubbled over following comments made by Jones during an interview with social media influencer Justin LaBoy.

During the conversation, he was asked about comments made by 50 Cent and Cam’ron regarding Jones and Juelz Santana’s infamous appearance onstage with G-Unit amid their differences with Cam.

Seemingly miffed, Jones urged the two rap vets to leave him be while revealing the root of his and Cam’s issues, which he attributes to his decision to take his career into his own hands.

“[Cam] couldn’t pull nothing together. He couldn’t do nothing with me,” Jones said of the belief that he was under Cam’ron’s command during his time with Dipset.

“He couldn’t tell me nothing, ni**a,” he said, passionately.

“Let’s not get this sh*t twisted. Nobody could tell me nothing. I was my own boss… I did what I wanted to do. I seen the sh*t wasn’t going right so I started doing what Jim Jones needed to do for Jim Jones ’cause the ni**a that was supposed to be the don wasn’t taking care of the Capo. It started feeling like the Gotti movie, ya heard?”
