  • Mary Remmy Njoku has frowned at 21 year old girls getting botox shots at such early age.
  • The actress cum filmmaker seemed shocked to discover it is becoming a trend among the young people.
  • Mary Njoku questioned what wrinkles they are trying to hide instead of simply enjoying their youthful skin.

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mary Njoku has stirred a conversation on societal beauty standards, expressing dismay over the rising trend of 21-year-old girls getting Botox treatments.

Taking to Instagram, Njoku questioned whether having a “lifeless face” has become fashionable, highlighting how Botox is traditionally used by women in their 40s and 50s to minimize wrinkles.

She expressed concern over what wrinkles women in their early 20s could possibly be trying to conceal. Mary Njoku wrote:

“Botox at 21? Really, why? Is having a lifeless face now the new trend? Older people, those in their 40s and 50s, use it to reduce wrinkles. But at 20s, what wrinkles could you possibly be trying to hide?”

The actress encouraged young women to embrace their youth and cherish their natural beauty, emphasizing that many older individuals would give anything to relive their 20s.

She advised parents to instill self-esteem in their daughters by teaching them to celebrate their natural selves. Njoku added:

“Let’s teach our daughters to embrace and celebrate their natural selves. Self-esteem is everything,”

Weeks back, Mary Njoku shared how displeased she felt about how some people currently prefer to rant on social media as opposed to settling issues privately back in the day.

She stated that she missed the times she had to confront people physically to trash out their issues off the internet.

The movie star stated that social media is not the real world and it is better for people to focus on their struggles in real life.
