  • The drama exploded last week when Baba De Baba sent shockwaves across social media with a viral video, sensationally claiming that May was out to end his life

In a shocking turn of events, Nollywood actress May Edochie has orchestrated the arrest of comedian Chidi Uzoma, popularly known as Baba De Baba, over explosive allegations of kidnap and attempted murder that he recklessly hurled at her.

Few days ago, Baba De Baba set the internet ablaze with a viral video, accused May of plotting to eliminate him and his family.. He went as far as alleging that May and her lawyer had kidnapped his son, dragging her name through the mud.

In a statement by May Edochie’s legal counsel, Emeka Ugwuonye, via Facebook, it was confirmed that comedian Baba De Baba had been arrested on charges of cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and other criminal offenses.

The lawyer revealed that law enforcement had been tracking Baba De Baba for two weeks before executing the arrest.

Detailing the operation, Ugwuonye explained that they strategically lured the comedian by posing as brand representatives offering him a lucrative endorsement deal.

During negotiations, Baba De Baba allegedly demanded N10 million and an appearance fee, which they agreed to. However, when he arrived to finalize the contract, he was swiftly apprehended.

Ugwuonye further disclosed that a criminal petition had already been filed against him last month. Additionally, legal proceedings included two separate civil lawsuits—one at the Lagos High Court and another at the Abuja High Court.

The lawyer also promised to release chat records of their interactions leading up to the arrest.

Leading up to this dramatic development, May Edochie had previously hit the comedian with a defamation lawsuit.
