Melyssa Ford found herself in the crossfire of Drake and Joe Budden’s feud in February, and the saga continued this week. The 38-year-old rapper shared new merch for his PARTYNEXTDOOR joint album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U featuring a photo of the legendary video vixen, and she reacted on the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast.
The merch collection includes a seductive photo of the 48-year-old model and a link to the website that reads “videovixens.ca,” which, when clicked, links to the JBP Patreon page. Though the internet found it funny, Ford did not. “What the f**k is going on?!” she asked. “Where’s my check? Where’s my f**king check? That’s what the f**k I want to know.”
The crew asked if she got paid for the use of her image, and Ford said she did not. “No! I woke up to it. And I’m just like, ‘I have bigger fish to fry than this sh*t.’” She claimed that she reached out to the 6 God over the photo use and believes that she may own the rights to the image, which was taken from the first calendar she ever appeared in. Budden, on the other hand, was happy for the free promotion. “That’s dope,” he said. “That’s super dope. I f**k with that.” Listen below.
Drake continued his beef with Joe Budden on “Gimme A Hug” when he rapped, “Melyssa Ford, you a legend from the 6ix, hate to see you with a d**k sucker.” Despite the jab, Budden gave a positive review of the project on the subsequent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, and Ford even added “Legend From The 6” to her Instagram bio.
This came days after Drizzy posted the retired MC on his burner Instagram and prompted a fiery response. “Drake, don’t shoot at me now that you ice cold,” he said. “I’m not doing a back and forth with a corpse. I wanted to do it when you was lit. It was fun. Don’t go get shot all through the year and then pop up like Bernie at Weekend At Bernie’s wanting to shoot at me now. […] 99 ni**as done jumped on your a**. […]. Go get your f**king lick back. F**king bi**h.”
The duo has had a love-hate relationship over the years. They were close until 2016 when Budden gave Views a highly critical review, and they exchanged jabs over records like “Wake,” “No Shopping,” “For Free,” and more. They eventually reconciled and kept the peace until Drake released For All The Dogs in October 2023. Budden heavily critiqued this album as well, calling the Toronto superstar out for spending too much time around young rappers and young women. The five-time Grammy winner ripped his career to shreds in a lengthy Instagram comment and dissed him on the deluxe of Dogs; it has been war ever since.
