Michael B. Jordan is opening up about his relationship with Jonathan Majors. In an interview with GQ, the actor revealed his pride in his peer after Majors was convicted of assault. Speaking to the magazine for their latest cover story, the 38-year-old detailed his willingness to collaborate with Majors on screen in the future.
The movie star says watching Majors throughout his controversy was “tough,” adding, “But he’s doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.” In December 2023, Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault, and acquitted of intentional assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree.
Jordan confirmed “Yes. Yes,” when asked about if he would work with Majors again.
Elsewhere in the interview, the award-winning actor discussed his upcoming film Sinners directed by Ryan Coogler. The supernatural horror is Coogler’s first original screenplay since Fruitvale Station, also starring Jordan.
Sinners stars Michael B. Jordan in dual roles, playing a set of twin brothers who return to their hometown in an attempt to leave their troubled lives in the past. To their surprise, a greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
“Our film, Sinners, it’s a unique one. It’s kind of genre-bending… it’s genre-fluid, the film. There are vampires in the film, but it’s really about a lot more than just that. It’s one of many elements, I would say, and I think we going to surprise people with it,” shared Coogler.
