Multiple Producers On Ye, Ty Dolla $ign’s ‘Vultures 1’ Remain Unpaid

Several producers involved in the creation of Ye and Ty Dolla $ign‘s collaborative Vultures 1, and the follow-up Vultures 2 have reportedly not yet been paid for their contributions.

According to Billboard five lawyers representing producers credited on Vultures 1 claim that getting their clients compensated for the album has proven to be more difficult than the typical payment process. The outlet notes more than 10 producers on the album do not have signed agreements with Ye, preventing them from collecting fees, potential producer royalties, and publishing income.

“We have clients who’ve produced music on the Vultures album(s) and have still not been paid for their services even though both albums have been released,” shared music attorney Bob Celestin with the outlet. “Presently, we have no idea when payment will be made, which is so unfortunate and unfair. You would think Ye would be more sensitive to this issue because he is a producer.”

“We’ve had trouble receiving a producer agreement from Ye,” added Brittney Trigg, another lawyer who represents a producer on Vultures 1.

“We have no recourse besides to try to sue [Ye],” declared an additional attorney with a client on Vultures 1. “But that’s costly.”

Another lawyer added, “Legal claims against Ye don’t really seem to go anywhere.”

Vultures 1 was issued in February and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Shortly after its release, the album temporarily disappeared from streaming platforms after the distributor claimed the musicians violated a service agreement when providing the project to various platforms. Vultures 2 was released in August and the third installment promised remains unreleased.

“Ye is the best artist of this generation, besides me, and I don’t give a **k about what people were talking about. I know my ni**a. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met,” shared Ty Dolla $ign with Billboard about working with the controversial Chicago musician.

“Just with my analysis of how it goes with him, he goes all the way to the top. And something may happen and he’ll say [something people find offensive] — and then people [get] right back, you know. Because this sh*t is undeniable.”
