Finnish telecom giant Nokia on Monday said it had reached a settlement with Amazon, which it had sued over alleged patent infringements on video-related technologies.

“Nokia… has signed a patent agreement with Amazon covering the use of Nokia’s video technologies in Amazon’s streaming services and devices,” the company said, adding that the deal resolves all litigation filed and that details of the agreement would remain confidential.

Nokia had sued Amazon in five global jurisdictions—Britain, the European Union’s patent court, Germany, India and the United States—in October 2023.

At the time Nokia said the cases involved Amazon’s Prime Video service and other devices that were in alleged violation of Nokia’s patents on “video compression, content delivery, content recommendation and aspects related to hardware.”

Nokia had also in October 2023 sued HP, formerly known as Hewlett-Packard, in a U.S. court over its alleged use of Nokia video technology without permission. That lawsuit was settled in October 2024.
