Pleasure P is looking to get his just due for his contributions to one of Lil Wayne‘s biggest records. The R&B singer posted a rant on social media on Monday (Dec. 30) demanding to be credited for co-writing “Lollipop” by Weezy, the lead single off of Tha Carter III in 2008.

“I wrote that,” Pleasure P declared while playing the song in the background. “Rex Zamor, Tez, Mack Maine… I need my f**king plaque for this song, bro. Jim Jonsin, y’all can do something about this sh*t but nobody care about me no more. Rex [Zamor] got my publishing, and he got his name on this record, bro. And I can’t get my just due. Before my first album came out, I wrote this song with Static.”

He continued, clarifying that he doesn’t want the situation to escalate, but he is merely asking for what he deserves. “I ain’t kill nobody, I ain’t crash out,” he added. “Just understand I don’t want no violence bro. But that’s the right way to do sht. My son just got out of jail. Like, I ain’t got time for this sht no more, bro. I’m 40 now. Just give me what I deserve, bro.” Watch the clip below.

Although this isn’t the first time an artist publicly spoke out about not being credited for their work, a majority of the reactions in the comment section pointed out the untimeliness of the rant.

“Imagine still tryna get clout for a song that came out in 2008,” one of the top-liked comments under Akademiks’ repost of the video read. “N**ga waited like 15 years to do this sh*t,” one user wrote as another echoed, “It’s been a decade and a half since then no ?” Another person joked, “N**ga wants a lollipop.”

Before concluding his rant, Pleasure P gave props to Wayne. “And Tune, I’m so happy for you brother. That Hot Boyz reunion. But I’m a part of his biggest record, 1.3 million first week and I haven’t been able to celebrate that,” he said.

“Lollipop” remains as one of Weezy’s biggest songs to date, as it has gone 5× Platinum and won a Grammy for Best Rap Song in 2009.
