Rick Ross reportedly owes a hefty amount of cash in taxes.
In Touch reports that the Teflon Don reportedly has been caught in the crossfire of the Georgia Department of Revenue, with the state agency claiming that they’re owed nearly $65,000 in taxes from the rapper, or $64,995.21, to be exact.
The state filed a state execution against the entertainer, né William Leonard Roberts II, claiming that he failed to pay a 2021 debt, which originally was priced at $29,043.
However, the debt has since grown in the past four years due to $10,576 in interest, $19,516.80 in penalties, and collection fees worth $5,808, along with an assortment of other fees. The Georgia Department of Revenue’s legal document asserts that Ross owes the money concerning “delinquent tax liabilities.”
Ross first purchased a home in Fayetteville, Georgia in 2014 and famously renamed it the Promise Land estate as he looked to start a serious life in the state. Most notably, the home was previously owned by boxing icon and former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield.
Elsewhere, Ross is set to perform at Big Meech’s “Welcome Home” concert in Miami next month. Demetrius Big Meech Flenory’s release from prison will be celebrated on the big stage on Thursday (Feb. 13) at the Amerant Bank Arena. Flenory’s newfound freedom commemoration features performances from an array of rap superstars, including 42 Dugg, Moneybagg Yo, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Est Gee, Tee Grizzley, Sexyy Red, Boosie, and Ross, with others set to be announced at a later date.
Big Meech will host the celebratory event, and XO Touring & AG Touring will handle the production duties for the occasion. The production company has promised that “[it’ll] be a memorable night where the music industry unites and celebrates a legend.”
