A source claims that recently leaked audio of a phone conversation between Ye and Sean “Diddy” Combs was recorded without the Harlem native’s knowledge. According to the New York Post, from behind bars, the unnamed confidant explained, “Puff didn’t know it was being recorded [on video],” adding that Combs “thought he was having a friend call him to check on his kids.”

“The call was real and not AI,” the source also confirmed. “Ye wasn’t doing anything nefarious,” explained the source, downplaying the leak by adding that the video recording “happened organically.”

“Diddy is collateral damage in the debacle over Ye’s new song – the beef is really with Kim.”

In the chat, the two disgraced Hip-Hop figures discussed everything from new music to Combs coming out victorious in his criminal trial. The 55-year-old is currently behind bars in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center pending trial for racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution.

“I’ll tell you the real from the front line, this sh*t is wicked, wicked, wicked, so you be careful,” shared Combs to Kanye West in the leaked audio. “We need you out there.”

He continued to encourage Ye, saying, “Get behind the mic, have some fun. Chop up them samples. Get back on your hit man vibe. Have some fun. Get back to smiling. F**k these other motherf**kers, they are wasting your time. Put that love in your heart [and] enjoy yourself. When I get out there, I want to see you f**king tear down the stadiums, I need to see you back on that stage, actually rapping and performing and everything. I be dreaming of that sh*t.”

The Chicago rapper shared the optimism in his responses to Combs, telling the Bad Boy Records founder, “You gon’ definitely beat this sh*t.”

He added, ” I love you so much, man. It’s like you raised me even when I didn’t know you, you know what I’m saying?”
