In a heartfelt tribute, Shebeshxt took to Instagram to share a photo of his late daughter. The image, though painful, captured a glimpse of the joy Onthatile once brought to her family. The post was flooded with comforting messages from fans and fellow artists, offering words of support during what has been an incredibly difficult time.

The grief from losing his daughter has been a heavy burden for the Limpopo artist, but Shebeshxt has chosen to honour her memory in various ways. Shortly after her passing, he had a portrait of Onthatile tattooed on his body, a permanent reminder of the love and bond they shared.

During her funeral, Shebeshxt bravely stood before the mourners and read a poignant note to his daughter. His voice cracked with emotion as he spoke the words: “You left a huge void in our hearts. I don’t think we will ever recover from this.”

With his emotions raw and vulnerable, Shebeshxt continued: “We might seem strong, but deep down we wish we could wake up from this terrible nightmare and see your beautiful face and hear your wonderful voice saying, ‘Ke rata batswadi baka ka pelo ka moka’ (I love my parents wholeheartedly).”

As he reflects on the loss of his beloved daughter, Shebeshxt continues to navigate the pain, leaning on his music, his fans, and the memory of Onthatile to keep her spirit alive. Though the pain may never fully heal, he remains grateful for the time they had together, and her memory will forever remain in his heart.
