Sherri Shepherd Blasts Megan Thee Stallion For Risqué Attire At Oscars

Sherri Shepherd is raising an eyebrow at the latest fashion trend sweeping red carpets: barely-there attire.

On the latest episode of the Sherri show, the talk show host candidly weighed in on Megan Thee Stallion, Zoë Kravitz and others’ revealing ensembles at Vanity Fair’s annual Oscars afterparty — questioning how they’ll influence younger generations.

“When I tell you the ladies bared it all on the red carpet, it was just almost too much to show on daytime TV,” Sherri said, referencing Julia Fox’s hair-sheer dress “barely covering her cookie jar,” Kravitz “gracing us with her butt crack,” and Meg “only matching green pasties to cover up her breasts.” Sherri noted, “We blurred it all. You could see everything.”

While the daytime voice made it clear she wasn’t here to shame anyone, she voiced her concerns about the message being sent. “I say this with all the love that I have: ladies, this is not it,” she expressed. “And I say this because there are young women, young girls who are looking up to all of you. You’re gonna have these young ladies emulating you.”

Reflecting on a time when class played a role in fashion, Sherri recalled, “Remember when your grandmother would tell you, ‘Let them use their imaginations, be a little mysterious?’ Nobody gets to use imagination.”

She then turned her focus back on Meg — who donned a daring green gown embellished with feathers and her breasts completely out — offering praise alongside her critique. “Megan Thee Stallion, I love you. I do. But I’m so upset because God gave you a legitimate gift. You are amazing with your lyrical rhymes and how smart you are,” she said.

The 57-year-old then spoke on Ye’s wife, Bianca Censori, who wore a sheer dress with nothing underneath to the Grammys last month. “I said it before when I talked about Kanye’s wife, who went to the Grammys last month and she took off her coat and had nothing on and it wasn’t just her cookie jar,” she recalled. “We saw cakes and croissants, too, when she was standing there.”

Sherri also pointed out that Censori “looked very uncomfortable… because you’re standing in front of a bunch of men. We gotta think about our future.”

Speaking to how these choices can affect impressionable women who may not have the luxury of being protected everywhere they go, she added, “These young girls who are emulating you, they don’t have security around them. So they’re emulating you and they go to these parties and something tragic could happen. These are our future, these young women and young men. I’ll get off my soapbox, I love all of y’all, but Auntie Sherri has spoken.”

Acknowledging that some celebrities insist they’re not responsible for setting an example, she pushed back. “Here’s the thing, it comes with the territory. You can’t escape it.”
