The GRAMMYs will celebrate the life and legacy of Quincy Jones.
The star-studded tribute was announced on Wednesday (Jan. 29) and will include appearances from Brad Paisley, Brittany Howard, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Cynthia Erivo, Herbie Hancock, Jacob Collier, Janelle Monáe, John Legend, Lainey Wilson, Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, and Stevie Wonder.
Per the Recording Academy, “a series of special performances will highlight the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards, including the annual In Memoriam segment, a salute to Quincy Jones, and touching tributes celebrating the spirit of the city of Los Angeles.”
Jones, who died on Nov. 3, 2024 at age 91, won 28 Grammys across six different decades including the Trustees Award in 1989 and Grammy Legend Award in 1992. He also served as a mentor to artists across genres and generations including Hancock, Wonder, and Legend.
Confirmed performers for this year’s show are Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Doechii, RAYE, Sabrina Carpenter, Shakira, and Teddy Swims.
The Recording Academy opted to proceed with the scheduled program and is using the telecast to raise funds to support Los Angeles wildfire relief efforts and honor first responders who aided to combatting the fires. Many GRAMMY week events have either been cancelled or reformatted.
Since launching their Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort To Support Music Professionals last week, the Recording Academy and MusiCares have raised and pledged over $4 million in emergency aid for music people affected by the wildfires.
Hosted by Trevor Noah for the fifth consecutive year, Music’s Biggest Night airs live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT via CBS. It can be streamed live and on demand through Paramount+. The non-televised GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony will be broadcast live from the Peacock Theater at 12:30 p.m. PT and can be viewed on the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel and live.GRAMMY.com.
