Grant Ellis, the second Black male to lead The Bachelor, handed out his final rose on Monday (March 24).
The 31-year-old proposed to Juliana Pasquarosa, 28, during the Season 29 finale and she said, “Yes!”
“Juliana, since our first night playing the piano and getting to know you, we’ve always had a connection,” he said during his romantic proposal. “Through this whole journey, you’ve been somebody who has inspired me and kept me laughing with your contagious smile, because we understand what we’ve been through, and we understand what it means to persevere.”
He added, “Our connection is so strong, and we can help each other through the good, the bad and everything in between.” She agreed, “Everything. All the things.”
When speaking on the journey to find his wife at the reunion, Ellis shared, “In this journey, I really put it all out there. I really had to try my best to find my person. And I did it. It was all worth it to find somebody who’s your life partner, it’s something that is extremely hard.”
Pasquarosa won Ellis’ heart over Litia Garr, who also told him that she loved him after meeting his family.
However, when it came time to choose his lady, Ellis told Garr, “I love you very much. I want to give you everything that you deserve, but I’m not your person. And I’m sorry that it got to this point.”

She admittedly left disappointed, expressing, “The things that you’ve said to me all along the way make this decision that you’ve made so much more devastating. For me, the switch up is crazy.”
According to PEOPLE, Ellis insists that he didn’t lead Garr on.
“I don’t feel like I misled — I feel like I led with my heart,” he explained. “I feel like it would be misleading if I made promises, but I expressed my feelings… I definitely cared, and I definitely did have those feelings, but ultimately Juliana is my person. Sometimes the hardest things come out with the best reward.”
Overall, he’s “very happy with decisions I made,” and has no regrets.
