The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is set to release a revealing new documentary chronicling the dramatic downfall of incarcerated Hip-Hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Titled P. Diddy: The Rise And Fall, the film will premiere on BBC Three and iPlayer on April 28 and promises to deliver an unflinching look at how Combs went from being one of the most influential figures in pop culture to pariah in a matter of months.

According to the BBC, the documentary will explore how Combs “has gone from being the world’s biggest Hip-hop mogul, to hemorrhaging friends and fans in a matter of months.”

Featuring exclusive interviews with “those close to” Combs, the film aims to uncover the circumstances that contributed to his very public unraveling.

The film is said to also “unpack” Combs’ alleged “interplay of power, money, moral corruption, and sexism, which underpins this story,” offering a broader lens on the entertainment industry that once helped elevate Combs to superstardom.

Host Yinka Bokinni, who leads the investigation, shared the emotional toll the project took on her. “My job is to tell stories — but never did I imagine I’d be telling this one,” Bokinni admitted.

“Investigating the alleged actions of Diddy has forced a spotlight onto the darker side of an industry so many of us dream of belonging to. We sang his songs, bought into the lifestyle, watched the shows and wanted more. This has been an emotional, sometimes difficult experience. And with a trial on the horizon, what happens next will no doubt be gripping — in the most sobering way.”

The documentary arrives as Combs faces mounting legal troubles, including a slew of allegations ranging from abuse and coercion to potential financial crimes. The Bad Boy Entertainment founder has plead not guilty to all charges and continues to maintain his innocence.

His legal team has sought bail and attempted to delay the impending trial, however, those requests have been denied, with the trial proceedings remain set to begin May 5.
