Tina Knowles is set to be honored by Billboard, but not for chart achievements. The 71-year-old has been cemented as Mother Of The Year by the platform and will be celebrated at the 2025 Billboard Women In Music affair. Knowles is the first-ever woman to be recognized with the special honor at the annual event.
The award comes as the mother of two prepares to release her memoir, Matriarch, next month. After Women In Music, Knowles has planned a book tour, bringing ‘An Evening with Tina Knowles, Family, and Friends’ to nine cities across the globe. Each stop has a different person joining the author, with Michelle Obama in Washington D.C., Kelly Rowland in Houston, Keke Palmer in Los Angeles, Tyler Perry in Atlanta, and more.
“And my mama was a savage — I got this sh*t from Tina,” detailed the publication when announcing the distinction, referencing Beyoncé’s homage to her mother on the “Savage” remix with Megan Thee Stallion. Billboard continued to recognize Knowles as “A businesswoman, fashion designer, art collector, and activist in her own right.”
Additional honorees at the 2025 Billboard Women In Music event include Doechii, GloRilla, Tyla, Muni Long, and Erykah Badu. The ceremony, which recognizes the industry’s top female artists, producers, and executives for their contributions to their field and beyond, will be hosted by Laverne Cox.
Becky G, Suki Waterhouse, Julia Michaels, Kali Uchis, Madison Beer, Mickey Guyton, Summer Walker, Tanner Adell, and Zara Larsson will present the honors during the glamorous affair. Artists taking the stage to perform include Ángela Aguilar, aespa, GloRilla, Gracie Abrams, Megan Moroney, Muni Long, and Tyla, with more promised to be announced.
The 2025 Women in Music Awards are set to stream live from the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, CA. on March 29, 2025, on VIZIO WatchFree+ at 10 p.m. ET on VIZIO TVs and in the VIZIO mobile app. Additionally, fans can purchase tickets to attend in person at the official website.
