VIBE is making its debut at this year’s Sundance Film Festival with Reimagining Creativity, an exclusive event in partnership with Variety. The conversational affair, presented by Google TV and YouTube, will offer thought-provoking dialogue on the future of storytelling and the evolving landscape of entertainment with VIBE’s unique perspective on culture and creativity. The program, which will explore the intersections of creativity, technology, and audience engagement, is set for Saturday (Jan. 25) and will take place at Riverhorse on Main in Park City, Utah, from 6 p.m. MT.
The two-hour event will kick off with an immersive experience, setting the stage for all to come. The first conversation—A Fireside Chat between Shalini Govil-Pai, Vice President of Google TV, and Angelique Jackson, Variety‘s Senior Entertainment Writer—will focus on the future of streaming, the changing role of technology, and how Google TV is reshaping content consumption for audiences worldwide.
Attendees will also hear from Roy Wood Jr., Marlee Matilin, Amy Berg, Harry Hamlin, and Tom Quinn in the second conversation of the evening, “Celebrating Innovation in Entertainment.” The panel’s topic will center on the role of creativity and new platforms in reshaping the entertainment landscape, with a special focus on the tools that are helping audiences discover their next favorite stories.
VIBE and YouTube will host the final conversation of the evening, “Forging New Paths to Stardom: How Traditional and Next Gen Creatives are Owning the Narrative.” The panel discussion will feature VIBE’s Editor-In-Chief Raina Kelley, YouTube Creators Michelle Khare & Kinigra Deon, actor DeWanda Wise, and Tara Walpert Levy, Vice President of Americas at YouTube.
