- Wizkid’s sister, Yetunde Balogun, sparked debate by comparing him to Albert Einstein, citing shared genius traits: trailblazing innovation, universal impact and effortless brilliance.
- Critics dismissed the analogy, prompting Yetunde’s defiant response, daring them to compare their brothers to a mad person if they wish.
Yetunde Balogun, sister of renowned Afrobeats star, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, recently sparked reactions online after comparing her brother to the legendary German scientist, Albert Einstein.
The singer’s sister explained that while Einstein and Wizkid belong to entirely different realms, their shared brilliance in their respective fields demonstrates the essence of genius.
Yetunde highlighted that just as Einstein revolutionized physics with groundbreaking theories like relativity, Wizkid has significantly influenced the global music industry. According to her, both figures have created works that leave a lasting impact on the world.
She further elaborated that Einstein was celebrated for his ability to approach complex scientific problems with a rare combination of intuition and ingenuity. In her view, Wizkid mirrors this quality by crafting music that transcends borders and connects deeply with audiences worldwide.
Her lengthy post read:
“I have been wondering what this picture depicts and I decided to investigate what it might mean to Wiz…that Gee sabi abeg #alberteinsteinofmusic Wizkid and Albert Einstein might seem worlds apart, but they share common traits that reflect the power of genius in their respective fields. Here’s how Wizkid’s artistry can be related to Einstein’s intellectual power:
1. Trailblazing Genius: Just as Einstein revolutionized science with his theory of relativity, Wizkid has transformed the global music scene, particularly by elevating Afrobeat to an international audience. Both figures broke barriers and set new standards in their disciplines.
2. Universal Impact: Einstein’s work transcended borders, influencing global science and philosophy. Similarly, Wizkid’s music bridges cultures, making him a global ambassador for African music, much like Einstein’s theories served as universal pillars of knowledge.
3. Effortless Brilliance: Einstein was often described as effortlessly innovative, solving profound problems with a blend of intuition and insight. Wizkid exhibits a similar flair in music, creating hits that resonate worldwide with a seemingly innate ability to craft melodies and rhythms. Both figures showcase the power of genius: Einstein in redefining how we see the universe, and Wizkid in reshaping the sounds that connect people across it…..”
However, her comparison didn’t sit well with some social media users, who found it inappropriate to equate the musician to the scientific icon. Responding to the backlash, Yetunde defended her statement and boldly told critics they could compare their own brothers to mentally unstable individuals if they preferred.
“I say my brother has Albert Einstein traits e dey pain you compare your own brother with werey nau… oloriburuku somebody,” she wrote.
